We built our CA-770 power amplifier around four EL34 tubes in an ultra-linear
circuit that could provide 40 watts of subtly textured music. On good
recordings you will hear height and depth. Tones retain their color and
body. To get the most out of the design, we used the best caps and resistors
we could ever find. The custom wound output and power transformers were
specially designed to extend the bass and highs. Just as important, the
military grade epoxy circuit boards are designed to minimize component
interaction. You will also see the care we took by looking inside. No
rat's nest here, neatly laid out Teflon wires, carefully thought through
grounding paths, all done in the best traditions of American craftsmanship.
The chassis is thick steel, the binding posts clamp down on your speaker
wire for solid contact. Even the blue jewel light instead of the usual
stoplight red or green tells you that we are taking the care to be distinctive.
